Advocacy Alert #2
March 8, 2020
DEAR FAITHFUL FRIENDS,
PBG enjoyed a very successful Day at the Capitol last Monday, March 2, 2020. Here is our photo with Governor Brian Kemp, and two of our Presbyterian legislators: Rep. Betsy Holland (D-Atlanta), and Rep. Becky Evans (D-Atlanta) who is active at North Decatur Presbyterian Church.
We advocated for increased Medicaid coverage for women to address Georgia’s terrible maternal mortality rates, restoration of state funding for public health departments and mental health and addiction treatment services for children and adults, and for changes to support healthy and stable housing for vulnerable families facing eviction. We are grateful for the leadership of Karen Turney in planning and organizing this event and for making the day a meaningful experience for all participants.
